Daily program

Day 1: SANTIAGO DE CHILE (FLIGHT) – EASTER ISLAND/ ARRIVAL

Transfer to the international airport 1.30 hours before scheduled departure to Rapa Nui, Easter Island (flight time and number to be confirmed, flight not included, see flight options down below).
Reception at the airport with garlands of flowers and transfer to your hotel.
Easter Island is a mysterious place with its archaeological sites, volcanoes, beaches of white sand, crystal waters and an exotic vegetation with a semi-tropical climate. An unforgettable trip to discover Easter Island's mysteries.
Night at the hotel. Meals not included.

Day 2: HANGA ROA – AHU AKIVI

After breakfast, we leave our hotel to visit the village of Hanga Roa with its market called “feria” in Spanish, its church, the graveyard and the small fishing harbour.
Then we go along the coast to reach the magnificent restored site of Tahai, visit some caves and observe petroglyphs and ruined altars (Ahu). We finally get back to inland to reach Ahu Akivi.

Day 3: AHU AKIVI – ANAKENA

After admiring the seven explorers, we begin our trek towards the crater of Rano Aroï and the Terevaka, highest point of the island (1.663 feet) where we have a panoramic view of Rapa Nui. Then we go down towards the uninhabited and wild North coast where we can observe numerous petroglyphs, the Make-Make's cave and ruined altars (Ahu). We go through the crater of Hanga Oteo with magnificent views of the ocean before reaching the royal site of Anakena dominated by the Moai of the Ahu Nau-Nau. We admire there a beautiful white sand beach.

Day 4: ANAKENA – RANO RARAKU

After a tonic bath in the sea, we walk along the same coast until the precious Ovahe beach and then we discover the sites of Te Pito Kura with its giant Moai and Hekii in the “La Pérouse” bay. We observe petroglyphs in Papa Vaka before going through the plain at the foot of the Poike volcano. We reach the magnificent statue quarry on the Rano Raraku volcano and visit the site until the end of the afternoon.

Day 5: RANO RARAKU

Today we stay at the same camp and take the opportunity to go to Poike to admire the face of Vai at Heva, the Virgins' cave and the Moai Ahu.
On our way, we go through the Hanga Nui bay where stands the colossal Ahu de Tongariki.

Day 6: RANO RARAKU – RANO KAU

This morning, transfer between our camp and the site of Vaihu. On our way, we observe the Ahu of Tetenga and Aka Hanga, and numerous statues which were throuwn on the ground and never arrived to their destination.
Then we walk along the coast to reach the Ahu Tahiri which represents a remarkable rock assembling. From there we climb along the Rano Kau volcano's cliffs to discover a magnificent panorama of the huge crater and the «Motu Nui, motu Iti, motu Kaokao» islets. We finally walk on the edge of the crater to reach our camp.

Day 7: RANO KAU – HANGA ROA

Today we begin our trek by observing the bottom of the crater which is covered by a mosaic of small lakes, natural reserves for flora.
Then we head southwest to visit the impressive renovated site of Orongo, where took place the cult of Bird Men 150 years ago. It was celebrated each year and aimed at designate the political leader of the island.
Later, we go down to the village and visit the cave of Ana Kai Tangata, Hanga Piko's harbour and its Ahu before going back to the hotel. We finish this great tour by savouring curanto, a typical meal of the island.
Night at the hotel. Meals included.

Day 8: EASTER ISLAND (FLIGHT) / SANTIAGO DE CHILE

Transfer to the airport 1.30 hours before scheduled departure to Santiago (flight time and number to be confirmed, flight not included, see flight options down below). Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to your hotel. Night at the hotel. Meals not included.

Four-day trek around San Pedro de Atacama. Camping in tents.

Daily program

Day 1: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA – SAN BARTOLO

ATransfer to Catarpe valley where our trek begins. We follow the San Bartolo River until its source. We can find petroglyphs there. Then we continue our trek to reach an altitude of 8,900 feet where we set up our camp.
First night under the starry sky of San Pedro de Atacama Desert, after an easy walking day. Sleeping in tents. Meals included.
Route: 1h - Climb: 3h30

Day 2: SAN BARTOLO – RIO GRANDE

Today, after one day of acclimation, we start gaining altitude. Once again we follow the bed of a river where we find rare rocky formations and giant cactus.We keep on walking until 11,800 feet of altitude to reach the small village of Rio Grande where we set up our second camp. Sleeping in tents. Meals included.
Climb: 6h

Day 3: RIO GRANDE – MACHUCA

After breakfast, we head to a zone irrigated by small rivers that make fertile valleys. We continue to gain altitude to go over 13,000 feet. The town of Machuga offers a spectacular view of the Licancabur volcano. We set up there our third camp. Sleeping in tents. Meals included.

Day 4: MACHUCA – GEYSERS DEL TATIO – SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

This morning, we leave at dawn and reach 13,800 feet quickly to visit the Geysers of El-Tatio. This incredible region has an impressive vapor activity in early hours. We have breakfast there. This is a good opportunity to take our warm clothes off and put our swimsuit on to have a bath there.
Retun to San Pedro at noon. Night at the hotel. Meals not included.
Route: 2h30 - Climb: 1h

Optional: At nightfall, we follow an astronomer to a semi-professional astronomical observatory in San Pedro for a discovering session of the Austral sky, the clearest sky in the world. After 2 hours of observation, we finish by listening to the explanations of our guide while drinking a hot drink, before going back to the village.
Note: Excursion open to others participants (15 people maximum in total). Impossible during harvest moon.

Day 1: PUERTO NATALES – GREY REFUGE –PAINE GRANDE LODGE

In the morning we travel from Puerto Natales to the Torres del Paine National Park, more specifically to the Hosteria Lago Grey, where we take a ship to cross the beautiful Grey Lake. Meanwhile, we admire its amazing glacier and icebergs, forming part of the Southern Glacier Ice Cap, the third most important one after Antarctica and Greenland. From there we begin a 4-hour trek to the Paine Grande Lodge and Pehoe Lake.
Lunch not included. Dinner included. Camping.
Walking time : 3-4h; Distance : 11km; Slope : + 300m / - 300m

Day 2: PAINE GRANDE LODGE – LOS CUERNOS REFUGE

This morning we head East along the Skottsberg Lake for an easy trail. We continue through the French river to reach the French valley, passing through the Italian camp, then through the British camp. After the Italian camp it is a long and steep climb. Then when arriving to the French valley, we have to go down again to the Italian Camp and from here we continue towards the East, instead of going to the Paine Grande lodge, we go to the Cuernos Refuge Meals included. Camping.
Walking time : 7-8h; Distance : 25km

Day 3: LOS CUERNOS REFUGE – CHILEAN CAMP

We continue towards the East, this time along the Nordenskjöld Lake. Over its total length, around 14 kms, the terrain is almost flat. After 3 ½ -4 hours we get to Hosteria Las Torres. From here we continue to the Chilean Camp where we are able to relax. It's a 2-hour climb. Meals included. Camping.
Walking time : 5½-6h; Distance : 14km

Day 4: CHILEAN CAMP – BASE OF THE TOWERS – PUERTO NATALES

To finish this trek, we climb to the base of the towers, the most beautiful point of this “W tour”. It's a climb through a very steep moraine, to finally reach the Paine Towers. Return through the same trail (2-hour descent), to finally reach the Hosteria las Torres where our vehicle wait for us. Transfer to Puerto Natales. Lunch included. Dinner not included. Hotel.
Walking time: 3-4h; Slope : + 700m / - 800m

Corcovado National Park

Corcovado National Park Osa Peninsula - COSTA RICA

National Geographic has described the Corcovado National Park as the "the most biologically intense place on Earth". The area contains the last expanse of original tropical forest in Pacific Central America and is considered the jewel in the crown of tropical humid reserves.
Spanning 425 km2 the park was created in 1975 with the aim of preserving the largest tropical humid forest on the American Pacific Coast as well as 52 km2 of marine habitat.
Corcovado (“hunchback”) nestles in the southwestern corner of the Osa Peninsula and protects at least eight different habitats from the mangroves of the primary and secondary tropical forest right through to the low-altitude cloud forest. The most visible and accessible habitat is the sandy coastal stretch.
More than 500 species of tree can be found here not to mention the magnificent fauna which is one of the most varied in Costa Rica. The park is home to over 400 species of bird including the endangered Harpy Eagle and the largest population of red macaws in all of Central America. It is also here that one has the greatest chance of seeing jaguars and tapirs, notably at dusk on the beaches, and also sizeable populations of coati, toucans and snakes.

COIBA ISLAND Panama

The island of Coiba in Panama is a protected paradise declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Coiba National Park, spreading over 270,000 hectares, is situated on the Pacific coast of the region of Veraguas in the Gulf of Chiriqui.
This group of 38 islands and islets forms part of the same marine biological corridor as the Galapagos Islands, Cocos Island and Malpelo Island and is one of the places in all America where nature is best preserved.

During almost 100 years Coiba was used as a penal colony spanning the dictatorships of both Omar Torrijos and then Manuel Noriega. Visitors were strictly forbidden until 2004. The isolation of the island allowed the flora to develop and the species to take over.
Nowadays Coiba is the dream destination and one of the most favorable environments in the world for hiking off the beaten trail, to go deep-sea diving, to nature watch and to go fishing. One must not forget to visit the prison and relive Panama´s past.
Declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2005, the tropical humid forests of Coiba Island possess a broad diversity of bird and mammal life and many endemic plants. It is also the last stronghold of several endangered species such as the Harpy Eagle and the Scarlet Macaw that have virtually disappeared in the rest of the country.
Coiba is surrounded by the second largest coral reef in the East Pacific. The marine and land life is very varied and it is not uncommon to spot humpback whales, sea turtles, sharks (33 recorded species) and orcas! As you can tell the Coiba marine world is a veritable ecotourism paradise. Far from the tourist trails, Coiba is well worth a visit!

The southern Talamanca Cordillera in COSTA RICA

From the talamalka word meaning “place of blood” in the language of the Miskito Indians, the Talamanca region stretches from the Atlantic coast to the cordillera that runs from the central valley to Panama. The region possesses numerous summits of more than 3,000 meters of which the highest, Chirripó, reaches its peak at 3,820 meters. The region also harbors the magnificent La Amistad International Park, the largest in the country, where the great felines of Central America, such as jaguars and pumas, still live.

San Gerardo de Dota, the kingdom of the Quetzal

The banks of the Rio Savegre and the steep slopes of the Talamanca massif have for a long time rendered the region inaccessible.
Nowadays, south of the Cerro de la Muerte, San Gerardo de Dota is a small rural village renowned for a center for mountain research and, more specifically, observation of the Resplendent Quetzal on the outskirts of the Los Quetzales National Park. Situated at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 meters the park is crisscrossed by torrents and lakes and has a variety of hikes to offer.

Chirripó, atop Central America

The Chirripó National Park covers a total of 50,150 hectares situated in the heart of the Talamanca Cordillera. 263 amphibian and reptile species as well as 400 species of birds (including the resplendent “Quetzal”) have been identified in the park. The greatest concentration of tapirs in the country is also to be found here. Jaguars, pecari and a large number of monkeys have likewise been recorded. The ascent of Mount Chirripó, the highest peak in Central America, is no mean feat. It entails a climb of 3,819 meters….and temperatures of as low as 9° have been recorded at the summit!

La Amistad Biosphere Reserve

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, La Amistad International Park protects territories spanning parts of Costa Rica and Panama, hence its name.
The park is considered the most extensive mountain and tropical forest ecosystem in the country including humid, pluvial and cloud forests. Due to its broad biodiversity it comprises an extraordinary number of habitats resulting from the different altitudes, soils, climates and topographies.
