An itinerary which allows the discovery of the main attractions of the White Cordillera. The Alpamayo was declared, thanks to the UN, the most beautiful mountain in the world in 1968.
Intended for those who already have climbing experience 65º slopes and wish to experience pleasure in a beautiful climbing environment. An unforgettable climb...!

 

Daily program

Day 1: HUARAZ - CASHAMPAMPA – LLAMA CORRAL

In the morning, transfer by private vehicle to Cashampampa, departure point of the trek with destination Llama Corral. Night in a camp.
Hiking time: 4 to 5 hours; Distance: 5.6 miles; Elevation gain: + 850 m

Day 2: LLAMA CORRAL - CAMP MORAINE (ALPAMAYO)

Ascent to the Alpamayo Base Camp where we leave the mules. Night in a camp on a glacier at an altitude of 4900 m.a.s.l (16,076 feet).
Hiking time: 7 to 8 hours; Elevation gain: + 1100 m (3,608 feet).

Day 3: CAMP MORAINE (ALPAMAYO) - CAMP I

Day to ascent to Camp I, at an altitude of 5300 m.a.s.l (17,388 feet). Highlight of the day, the climbing of a 55 degrees corridor.
Hiking time: 6 to 7 hours; Elevation gain: + 1000 m (3,280 feet).

Day 4: ASCENT OF ALPAMAYO (el. 5947 m.a.s.l. / 19,511 feet) / ASCENT

Ascent of the Alpamayo reaching the altitude 5947 m.a.s.l. / 19,511 feet). Day of great emotions, due to the beauty of the landscapes as well as for the technical difficulties of the climb. The climb may involve placing fixed ropes on the 2000 feet long cliff reaching 65 degrees.
Night in an altitude camp.
Hiking time: 9 to 10 hours; Elevation gain/loss: + 950 m (3,116 feet)/- 950 m (3,116 feet)

Day 5: RESERVE DAY

Altitude Camp on the glacier.

Day 6: ASCENT OF QUITARAJU (el. 6036 m.a.s.l. / el. 19,803 feet)

Ascent of Quitaraju, reaching the altitude of 6036 m.a.s.l (19,803 feet). From the top of the mountain, we enjoy an unobstructed view over the Alpamayo.
Night at Camp I.
Hiking time: 8 to 9 hours; Elevation gain/loss: + 736 m (2,414 feet)/- 736 m (2,414 feet)

Day 7: RETURN TO BASE CAMP

Descent to the base camp.
Night in the camp.
Hiking time: 4 to 5 hours; Elevation loss: - 1000 m (3,280 feet).

Day 8: BASE CAMP - CASHAPAMPA – HUARAZ

Descent to Cashapampa and transfer by private vehicle to the hotel in Huaraz.
Hiking time: 6 to 7 hours; Distance: 13.6 miles; Elevation loss: - 1300 m (4,265 feet).
