The Huaraz region although one of the highest in the country, offers very accessible areas perfect for a great acclimatization. The few day spend around Huaraz will charm you.

Daily program

Day 1: HUARAZ – COMMUNITIES OF THE CORDILLERA BLANCA - HUARAZ / TREK

This day is dedicated to hiking at an altitude inferior at 3 800 meters, through some communities of the Cordillera Blanca. \Night in Huaraz.
Cold lunch included. Dinner open.
Hiking time: 4 to 5 hours; Distance: 7.5 miles; Elevation gain: +590/– 590m

Day 2: HUARAZ – LAGUNE 69 – HUARAZ / TREK

In the morning, we head for Laguna 69, located at the foot of Chacraraju (el. 6112 m.a.s.l) in our private vehicle.
Observation of surrounding glaciers, among which the Huascaran, culminating at 6 768 meters above sea level.
Return and transfer to the hotel in Huaraz.
Cold lunch included. Dinner open.
Hiking time: about 6 hours; Distance: 13 miles; Elevation gain: + 650 m –/650 m

Day 3: HUARAZ - QUEBRADA QUILCAYHUANCA – TULLPACOCHA - PITEC / TREK

Morning departure in private vehicle for the Portada de Quilcayhuanca.
Trekking day around Lake Tullpacocha, at 4 250 meters above sea level, allowing the discovery of the valley and the observation of birds.
Camp at Pitec. Meals included.
Elevation gain: + 350 m/- 350 m; length: 8 hours; Distance: 15 miles

Day 4: TREK OF THE LAGUNA CHURUP (el. 4500 m.a.s.l.)

Pitec is the departure point of our trek to Lake Churup, with the wild shape of its shores and the strange colors of its waters.
We then head to the village of Unchus.
From there, we take a local means of transportation to return to Huaraz.
