Along the way

Misti – Lord, in Quechua – is by far the summit the most known in Peru and possibly one of the most impressive volcanoes, because of its shape, a perfect cone, resembling an upside down funnel.
From the top of its 5 820 meters, it watches over Arequipa the White sprawling over and ancient deserted valley, fertile thanks to ancient eruptions…
Active today, the fumes escaping its summit from time to time are a constant reminder of its majesty…

Daily program

Day 1: AREQUIPA – RESERVA NACIONAL DE AGUADA BLANCA / ASCENT

Early in the morning, we depart in our private vehicle for the National Preserve of Aguada Blanca (el. 3 700 m.a.s.l.).

 Short acclimatization hike.

Camp at el. 4050 meters above sea level.

Day 2:CAMP DE BASE MONTE BLANCO / ASCENT

First part of the ascent of the volcano: the base camp of Monte Blanco located at el. 4800 m.a.s.l.

All included.

Day 3:MONTE BLANCO – MISTI (el. 5 822 m.a.s.l.) – AREQUIPA / ASCENT

At dawn, we start the slow ascent of the pass. We reach the superb summit of the volcano Misti, still active today.
Return to camp and transfer to the hotel in Arequipa.
Lunch included. Dinner open.
Hiking time: about 6 hours.
